Apple just announced its latest smartphone in the market which is named the iPhone SE. This smartphone comes with specifications similar to the iPhone 11 series from last year but comes with a design same as the iPhone 8 from 2016.

Today is also the day when pre-orders for the $399 iPhone SE start all over the world. However, we have a new report regarding Apple that is not related to their iPhones, iPad or even Mac devices. This report is from Bloomberg regarding a new type of device from Apple which is over-ear headphones.

If you recall, we ran a report earlier this month saying that Apple is planning to launch over-ear headphones in its AirPods lineup. Also, there is a rumour that the Beats lineup from Apple could be phased out in a gradual manner.

Later, Apple will release all the audio equipment under its AirPods brand with an Apple logo. Talking about this report about the over-ear headphones, it is to be noted that they will come under Apple brand and logo. They are also said to be coming in the $350 price segment competing with the likes of Bose and Sony.

However, the interesting part about Bloomberg’s report is that these headphones are said to have swappable or interchangeable parts. Bloomberg reports that Apple is working on at least two variants where we will see “leather-like fabrics and a fitness-focused model that uses lighter, breathable materials with small perforations”.

Coming to the topic of interchangeable parts, the report mentions that the ear pads and headband padding attaches to frame with magnets so they can be replaced by the user. Also, Bloomberg’s sources describe these headphones as having a retro look with oval-shaped ear cups. They also have arms coming out from the top of the ear cups rather than sides. From the description, it seems like the Apple over-ear headphones will be very similar to Bose Noise Cancelling headphones 700.
