We have been seeing reports right now that Apple will launch its own over-ear headphones under the AirPods brand name. Now, we know that the reports regarding over-ear headphones are not new but what is new is that they will not launch under the Beats branding. This also confirms the earlier leak which stated that the company might phase the Beats brand down the line. Talking about the AirPods over-ear headphones, we have a new leak revealing that these headphones will be called the AirPods Studio.

Now, there is another report which is an exclusive from 9to5Mac stating some features that will come with the AirPods Studio. Talking about the new features that are said to come with the AirPods Studio, these headphones are being touted as one of the most feature-rich headsets we will see in a while. Also, there was a report earlier which stated that the AirPods Studio will come at a $350 price tag and several other reports indicate the same price tag too.

As far as the features are concerned, it is said that AirPods Studio will have ear detection-like feature seen on the AirPods earphones from the company. This is a feature where the music playing automatically stops when it detects that the AirPods are not in use. This means that AirPods Studio will autoplay/pause music whenever you wear or remove them from your neck.

9to5Mac reports that ear detection does not work for over-ear headphones which is why Apple is working on neck and head detection. This means that you are likely to be listening to songs when the headphones are on your head which means the songs should start playing. However, if the headphones are on your neck then it is likely you are taking a rest since it is a default placement for many and the song would be paused.

Another great and one of the most practical features that AirPods Studio will come with are left and right ear detection. This means that you won’t have to see which is the correct way of wearing your headphones since it will auto-detect and tune the music based on that. This is important because we know that both the ears of a headphone do not produce the same volume.

It is also being said that the AirPods Studio will be marketed as being for professional users and they will be geared for the Mac and iOS users. This is the reason why you will get equalizer settings when you pair them with an iOS or a Mac device.

9to5Mac’s report also claims to have seen the existence of AirPods Studio branding in the iOS 14 code which also reveals that there are two colour variants that the headphones will launch with. It is more than likely the AirPods Studio will launch whenever Apple launches new AirPods Pro or the regular AirPods 2020 later this year.
