Google Pixel Watch 2 just got better than the original Pixel Watch. It comes with Fitbit’s most advanced stress management features including Daily Readiness Score, heart rate tracking, sleep tracking, and more that keep your health in check.

The Upgraded Heart Rate Sensor

The new multi-path heart rate sensor switches between single-path and multi-path modes to monitor heart rate based on how you are working out. The Cupertino-based giant has improved the AI heart rate algorithm to capture accurate measurements irrespective of the activities you are performing.

Better Stress Management

Pixel Watch 2 lists Fitbit’s stress management as one of the features to detect, intervene, and reflect on continuous stress monitoring. Continuous electrodermal activity (eEFA) works along with skin temperature, heart rate variability, and heart rate to pinpoint accurate body response moments. The system sends you suggestions based on the analysis to calm your nerves including guided breathing, walking, and other exercises.

The original Pixel Watch came with a 294mAh battery. Albeit minimal in terms of figures, the Pixel Watch 2 uses a 304mAh battery paired with improved battery management and fast charging that helps you keep your watch lit for hours day in and day out. It also gets the best of Fitbit which ensures you don’t miss out on Fitbit-exclusive features.

Designed for All-Day Wear

Pixel Watch 2 is a timepiece made with 100% recycled aluminum housing that is lighter in weight at just 31g without the bands. The cover glass is thinner and sports Gorilla Glass 5 which protects it from the elements. You can choose between four color combinations (more on that later). Pair it up with an ensemble of accessories right from Active Sport and Metal Slim bands and beyond.

Google Pixel Watch 2 Specifications

Talking about the specs, the Pixel Watch 2 sports a 1.2” AMOLED display with up to 1,000 nits of peak brightness. It has DCI-P3 color space, Always-on Display mode, and is covered with a custom-made 3D Corning Gorillas Glass 5 on top for scratch and drop protection. An IP68 rating keeps the watch secured against water up to 5ATM and dust.

The watch uses a Qualcomm SW5100 SoC under the hood with Cortex M33 co-processor on the hardware side while it uses WearOS 4.0 for the software side. Pixel Watch 2 is equipped with 2GB of SDRAM and 32GB of eMMC flash storage to name a few.

When it comes to the sensors, Pixel Watch 2 offers a lot of them. It includes a compass, altimeter, SpO2 sensor, ECG, 3-axis accelerometer, gyroscope, barometer, magnetometer, skin temperature sensor, ambient light sensor, an optical heart rate sensor, and eEDA for stress monitoring among others. Note that some of these features may not be available in all countries such as skin temperature, and SpO2 sensor among others.

Pixel Watch 2 makes a minimal upgrade in terms of its battery at 306mAh. A USB-C charging capable of taking the battery from 0 to 100% in 75 minutes at up to 2.5W rate plugged on a 30W adapter. Moving on, we have 4G LTE with UMTS, Bluetooth v5.0, Wi-Fi n, NFC, and several GPS support, among others. Japanese units have FeliCa as well.
