Getting enough sleep is really important, but getting a consistent sleep routine can be difficult. To make things more fun, Google is now adding a new Pokémon-themed version of its wearable, the Fitbit Air Pokémon Sleep Special Edition.
The company unveiled a new screenless wearable integrating Fitbit’s sleep-tracking features with the game mechanics of Pokémon Sleep. According to Google, the idea is to wear the wearable while you sleep; the tracker will record your sleep data, and finally, you can use that information to make progress in the Pokémon Sleep game.
To mark its 30th anniversary, Pokémon partnered with Google to celebrate with the special edition wearable. Let’s dive deep to see what Google has in store for consumers.
Fitbit Air Pokémon Sleep Special Edition gets a sleeping Pikachu design
The Pokémon Sleep edition maintains the lightweight design of the standard Fitbit Air and is optimal for 24/7 wear. It brings a Sleepy Blue color option with a custom silk-print label featuring a sleeping Pikachu. The tracker also has an adjustable design, which means users can fine-tune the fit accordingly.
Google Health tracks sleep stages and duration
According to Google, the Fitbit Air uses the Google Health app to track sleep throughout the night. The algorithms monitor light and deep sleep stages and show sleep duration.
Moreover, the Google Health Coach analyzes sleep trends over time and provides personalized guidance based on patterns. Customers who purchase the Pokemon Sleep Special Edition will receive three months of Google Health Premium. The premium option offers access to additional health and sleep tools.
How Fitbit Air works with Pokémon Sleep
The Fitbit Air can transfer sleep data to Pokémon Sleep using Health Connect on Android or Apple Health on iOS. After successfully connecting the device, sleep information recorded using the wearable can be used for game progress.
After waking up, players can come across Pokémon around Snorlax, according to their sleep types. Users can research different sleeping styles, complete the Sleep Style Dex, and embrace a Pokémon for their team.
Sleep duration further adds value to the game’s Drowsy Power system. Pokémon collect Berries that increase Snorlax’s strength. On the other hand, a player’s sleep score based on sleep duration is used to calculate Drowsy Power.
How to connect Fitbit Air to Pokémon Sleep
To set things up, users have to first allow Google Health to share sleep data through the Health Connect app on Android or Apple Health on iOS.
Then, users can open Pokémon Sleep by heading to Settings and pair their compatible wearable. Once a user wears the Fitbit Air overnight, the recorded sleep data will be synced with the game the next morning.
Notably, the Fitbit Air supports Pokémon Sleep on Android devices running Android 14 or later.
Special edition includes a Pikachu in-game item
The Fitbit Air Pokémon Sleep Special Edition also offers a serial code for the Pikachu Incense item in Pokémon Sleep.
According to the Pokémon Sleep website, the code can be redeemed once and remains valid until January 9, 2029. Players must complete the game’s sleep tutorial and get access to the Gift Box to redeem it.
Price and availability
The Fitbit Air Special Edition Pokémon Sleep is priced at $129.99 in the US, with pre-orders now live on the Google Store and Target. The shipment will begin September 15, 2026.
Unfortunately, there’s no availability announcement made for India. The Special Edition wearable is currently limited to the US and Japan.
