- The latest update is suported across Pixel line up starting 6a, 7 to 10 Pro XL, although the Pixel 11 series is yet to see that confirmation.
As of Friday, we got our hands on Android 17 QPR2 Beta 4 for Google Pixel devices, although it doesn’t include the Pixel 11 series as of now. The update has reached the Platform Stability stage and features the following bug fixes and updates that we will discuss in a bit.
Android 17 QPR2 Beta 4 brings a few bug fixes
Talking about the latest update on the Android 17 timeline, we have a fix for a thermal management issue that was causing phones to overheat and reboot. Google has fixed an issue with screen mirroring when connected to XR glasses using USB-C, as well as unresponsive gesture navigation and the app drawer failing to process text input, among others.
Apart from that, Google has fixed issues around battery charging to 80% taking more time towards the end of the charge. There’s also a fixed issue triggering visual inconsistencies when turning off the screen from the home screen, a blank screen on enabling 3D mode on supported smart glasses, as well as a low-light facial failure issue. What’s new with Android 17 QPR2 Beta 4?
Available for Pixel 6a, Pixel 7, and above, the Android 17 QPR2 Beta 4 brings a new voice broadcast quick setting tile on board where you can choose to keep it private or public. Another update is the Notification Intelligence that uses AI to consolidate all the notifications and organize them accordingly. Lastly, long-pressing on the menu now reveals a different layout for options.
