Honor is all set to bring its yet another smartphone to the Indian market and this time it is a mid-ranger. The Honor 9 Lite was first introduced in China last month and was expected to arrive in India pretty soon. The USP of the phone are its cameras; the phone sports dual cameras on both front and back.

This is not the first phone from Honor to sport four cameras, in fact, the Honor 9i launched in October also had them, which was priced at Rs. 17,999. At the time of launch, Honor had revealed that the 9 Lite will be made available in many more markets, including India. Russia and the UK were also on the list, but they haven’t seen the phone’s launch yet.

Starting with the display, the Honor 9 Lite has a 5.65-inch FHD+ display in 18:9 aspect ratio with thin bezels on the sides. Like always, the phone comes powered by a Huawei HiSilicon Kirin 659 processor that would be coupled with either 3GB or 4GB of RAM depending on the variant you’d choose. It would come running EMUI 8.0 over Android 8.0 Oreo.

Both the dual-camera setups on the front and back sport similar sensors. There is a 13MP primary camera along with a 2MP secondary camera on both front and back of the phone. The dual-SIM phone supports VoLTE, has a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a micro USB port to charge its 3000mAh battery.

Huawei’s sub-brand Honor is getting quite aggressive here in India with its product launches. After the release of Honor 9i, the Honor 7X was announced that is doing very well in the market. Recently the higher-end Honor View 10 was also seen giving the OnePlus 5T a run for its money. Now that Honor 9 Lite is coming to India as well, the competition in the budget segment is expected to get fiercer.

In China, the Honor 9 Lite was priced at CNY 1,199 (or Rs. 11,700) for the base variant with 3GB RAM, CNY 1,499 (or Rs. 14,600) for the 4GB RAM variant, and CNY 1,799 (or Rs. 17,600) for the top end variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. Its official launch will be the right place to get the confirmed local prices for India and that should happen soon.
