After its Chinese launch on December 26 as Honor V20 and its global release last week, Honor V20 or Honor View 20 has finally arrived in India as it was launched today at an event in Gurugram, India. The event was uber successful as Huawei, the parent company for Honor, unveiled the Honor View 20 that comes with various world’s first technologies and a new logo.
At the Honor View 20 event, Vice President of Huawei India unveiled the new logo along with the smartphone with many world’s first technologies. For starters, Honor View 20 is the first smartphone to come with a 48MP snapper in India and the first to host a 7nm Kirin 980 Dual NPU SoC, the first phone to feature a punch-hole camera in India to name a few.

Honor View 20 is marvelously designed phone with the first-ever punch hole front snapper that rights on the left side of the screen thus, eliminating any need to have any sort of notch. The phone features a vibrant, plush colored 6.4-inch FHD+ TFT LCD display that runs from edge-to-edge at 19.25:9 aspect ratio and a stunning 91.82% screen-to-body ratio.
One of the USPs of this smartphone is its brilliantly designed V-shaped gradient pattern at the back which reflects light in different directions giving a whole new meaning to the back panel where a stunning 48MP rear camera sits. Honor View 20 sports a Magic Ul 2.0 based on Android Pie which is known to reduce overheads and process quicker with lighter UI.

As said by Allen Wang, Vice President (Huawei India), Honor View 20 runs on the first-ever 7nm HiSilicon Kirin 980 dual NPU chipset. The SoC has been greatly enhanced to offer 75% more CPU speed, 46% more GPU speed and 120% more AI recognition speed when compared to the last generation of Kirin SoCs.
In fact, the device performs a 134% faster AI image processing and 46% camera process due to the inclusion of AI-based chipset that makes the device far more elegant and powerful than other devices. Although the device has a 6GB and 8GB RAM variant with 128GB and 256GB internal storage respectively, only 6/128GB model is available on Indian shores as of now.

But undoubtedly, the USPs of Honor View 20 is its front and rear cameras. It packs in India’s first 25MP punch-hole camera at the front which is just 4.5mm wide according to Honor. Turn the phone 180° and you’ll see a main 48MP snapper which is nothing but an IMX586 48MP sensor with larger CMOS, 4-in-1 light binning, AI HDR-enabled camera which shoots photos and videos at stunning clarity with its AI Ultra Clarity Mode. There is a secondary Time-of-Flight (ToF) 3D sensor at the back too which detects motions and creates a lot of opportunities such as 3D motion controlled gaming that was demonstrated during the launch event as well.
Finally, we have plenty of options and features to play with the cameras such as the Super Slow Motion at 960fps and Honor AR capability which makes Honor View 20 a must-have device so far.

We couldn’t resist but spare any details left unturned on Honor View 20 here on True-Tech. So, it features a 4,000 mAh battery similar to Huawei Mate 20 Pro with a 4.5V/5A fast charging capability which is 22.5W so no more low battery issues. The device supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi bands along with 4GB VoLTE and yes, there is no 5G yet on this device. It has no expandable memory card slot and offers dual-SIM capability which is a must in India where even Apple made a phone supporting dual-SIMs.

Now, this is interesting. Honor has quoted a price tag of Rs 37,999/- for its 6GB/128GB variant which is available in India. On the contrary, the higher 8GB/256GB variant could fetch Rs 45,999/- however, it is not available in India. The device will be available in Sapphire Blue, Midnight Black, and Phantom Blue and will be sold exclusively via Amazon and HiHonor Store starting at January 30, Wednesday, at 12 am IST.
