After launching Huawei MAte 20 Lite at IFA 2018, the Chinese smartphone maker is getting ready for their next big unveiling. Yes! we’re talking about the siblings – Huawei Mate 20 and Huawei Mate 20 Pro. The brand teased the release date for Huawei Mate 20 at IFA 2018 held at Berlin a week ago which is on October 16. Even though the launch event is a month away, there is no ending for the leaks, rumors, and teasers.

Currently, there are images that have been doing the rounds of the web showing Huawei Mate 20’s square camera setup at the rear and guess what, Huawei has officiated the setup although not in a ‘revealing’ way.

Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro will sport HiSilicon Kirin 980 AI processor, the first processor ever made on 7nm manufacturing process and the first to be rolled out with a production models citing the fact that Qualcomm is also working on its 7nm chipset that will be released soon. The image released by Huawei solve the 980 AI chipset placed at the upper central section, the same position where Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro’s square camera setup will be affixed.

Huawei has stated that new 7nm 980 AI SoC is 46% faster and 178% power efficient than its predecessor 970 AI SoC which recently went under wrath for benchmark cheating wherein three of the Huawei smartphones released in 2018 were named. The 980 AI SoC is made by China’s TSMC. Huawei Mate 20 series will have CAT 21 LTE connection that could provide a mobile data speed of 1,732 Mbps and that’s insane, I know.

Further, the Mate 20 series will have 3 cameras at the back i.e. a 40MP main sensor plus 20MO B/W and an 8MP telephone lens similar to Huawei P20 Pro as per few sources. The cameras will be arranged in a distinct 2×2 square as opposed to P20 Pro’s vertical setup. Also, the display will be curved according to the latest leak. After Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro, Huawei could come up with a Porsche edition of Mate 20 series similar to how it came up with a Mate 10 Porsche RS edition after releasing several variants of Mate 10. As of now, the Huawei Mate 20 Lite with 970 AI processor will go on sale tomorrow i.e. September 12.
