OnePlus is all prepped to raise the bar in mobile photography with its upcoming flagship. The OnePlus 16 camera specs have been officially unveiled, and the company has shared key details about the camera. Notably, the biggest upgrade is easy to spot: a 200MP primary camera. However, that’s not all; OnePlus is bringing a flagship camera to accompany it to make the upcoming phone stand out in the camera department.
OnePlus 16 camera specs reveal a flagship mobile photography
OnePlus took on Weibo to officially reveal the camera specifications for its flagship OnePlus 16. The phone will feature a 200MP primary lens, which is obviously creating headlines among the fans. The lens uses a 1/1.14-inch sensor with an f/1.6 aperture. That’s a huge jump, considering the OnePlus 15 has a 50MP primary camera. Also, it makes OnePlus 16 the company’s first smartphone to feature a 200MP sensor.
Moreover, the OnePlus 16 will equip a 50MP periscope telephoto, a 50MP ultra-wide camera, and a 50MP auto-focus selfie camera. Now, that was only the upper layer; here’s what it brings inherently.
The 50MP periscope telephoto camera is powered by a Sony IMX882 sensor. It supports 3x optical zoom and up to 6x lossless digital zoom. In simple words, a phone having a dedicated periscope lens allows you to have flexibility when you are capturing a subject from a distance. On the other hand, the 50MP ultra-wide offers a 116-degree field of view, meaning it will help users capture landscapes, buildings, and group photos without compromising fitting in the frame.

Other than sensor details, OnePlus has confirmed that to further strengthen its photography experience, it is bringing its advanced LUMO Imaging system, aimed at improving image processing and enabling more control over their photos and videos to users.
With this rear camera and front camera setup, OnePlus ought to offer a next-level photography experience to the users. However, it remains to be seen how these numbers work and deliver results in real life.
LUMO Imaging brings new camera features
OnePlus’ in-house imaging system, LUMO Imaging, will add considerable detail on camera capabilities. Alongside the system, OnePlus is bringing a Master Mode to give photos a cinematic look by enhancing the lighting and overall details.
The company has also highlighted a 65:24 wide-field mode. You might think it is an unusual ratio, but it is normal for particularly wide and cinematic images.
