- It has been a long-awaited feature given the fact that YouTube, TikTok, among others, already have this feature.
- The awaited Instagram reels recently viewed feature makes it easier to find reels that you must have seen day, yesterday or weeks ago, and here's how to use it.
Has it ever happened that you watched an Instagram reel that you liked but couldn’t find again? Well, it’s second because it is common and has happened to me a bazillion times. YouTube lets you revisit shorts, while TikTok has a feature to revisit old videos. But what about Instagram?
Well, the feature on Instagram was missing and long-awaited. Turns out Instagram has recently added a ‘Recently Viewed’ feature on-board that lets you do just that. Now you can check out all the recently watched Instagram reels and watch history on the platform. This was further confirmed by Instagram’s head of product, Adam Mosseri.
How to revisit recently viewed Instagram Reels?
Step #1: Open the Instagram app on your phone.
Step #2: Next up, tap on the three lines in the top-right corner.
Step #3: Now, head over to “Your Activity”.
Step #4: Scroll to find “Watch History” and voila, here’s everything you need to check out on the recently viewed reels.
It took Instagram some time to roll out a feature that should have been there for ages. The watch history page is magical as it brings all your recently viewed videos to a single page. You can filter by dates, months, weeks, or put in any other date range. There’s also an author or account filter on-board, making it easier to find reels that you might’ve liked and missed. Additionally, you can remove any reel you have missed, which means you can easily remove videos that you might not want anyone to watch.
