Meizu is working on their next flagship smartphone which the brand is about to launch in the next month. The brand will announce two smartphones – Meizu 16 and Meizu 16 Plus. Meizu‘s CEO Huang Zhang disclosed the launch details of the device about two weeks ago. According to the CEO, the smartphone will be made official on August 26 in the home country.

Coming to the device, there is nothing left to the imagination thanks to the previous leaks and rumors. Meizu 16 and Meizu 16 Plus both will be a flagship offering without a notch on the front. Instead, the smartphone will have narrow bezels and high screen-to-body ratio.

Meizu‘s CEO Huang Zhang has been the major source for all the details floating all over the internet related to the brand’s upcoming flagship device. Recently, Zhang was on the vacation with his family where he clicked some pictures which he later shared with the fans. It turns out that those pics were taken from none other than Meizu 16.

The indoor sample photo looks pretty impressive with a high level of accuracy in color reproduction and the clarity is vivid. The EXIF data revealed some of the interesting specs about the camera. First of all, it revealed that the shots were taken from the device.  Since this is a flagship smartphone, it will sport a dual camera setup at the back. As per the EXIF data, the device will have a 12-megapixel primary sensor with an aperture of f/1.8.

Adding further to the story, the popular mBack button will see an evolutionary version ditching the dot design. In addition, the brand might also introduce a new gesture recognition feature.

Meizu 16 and Meizu 16 Plus specifications and pricing

To recall, the smartphone will come with a Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 845 chipset clocked at 2.8GHz. Just like most of the flagship devices, this one will also come with a variant sporting 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The higher end variant will also come with an in-display fingerprint sensor. In addition, there will be a wireless charging support. The standard variant of the device will sport a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor but without an under-display fingerprint sensor. We’re also expecting a vapor chamber for cooling which will be a nice addition.

Meizu 16 was also spotted on the AnTuTu benchmark test a day before. The smartphone scored 291,866 in the test but we still can’t verify the authenticity of the device. And if we consider this scores, then Meizu 16 just beat some top of the line specifications. For instance, Xiaomi’s Black Shark Gaming scored 89,959, the Vivo Nex has 284,227 as its score, OnePlus 6 got 282,275 in the test and Xiaomi Mi 8 scored 273,221.

Speaking of pricing, the most powerful version of Meizu 16 will cost you no more than 4000 Yuan which roughly translated to Rs. 35,193. We’re expecting more leaks to appear since the launch date is coming near.
