The early CAD-based renders for OnePlus 12 surfaced back in July showing a centrally-placed punch-hole cut-out and a circular rear camera island with three cams. Tipster OnLeaks made the express discovery at the time. Cut to now, the tipster is back with some updates to the OnePlus 12 design based on the pre-production unit’s photos he came across.

Talking about the new OnePlus 12 design renders, the phone adopts a new design for its rear camera island. Perhaps, it is still humongous and circular just like the OnePlus 11 but camera placements have changed. Instead of adopting a triple camera setup arranged in two circles and a rectangular (akin to a periscope lens), the new renders use 2×2 circles within the island housing its rear camera setup.

The specifics of the camera system remain unavailable. This time around, OnePlus will continue partnering with Hasselblad although the branding has changed from the full name to just ‘H’.

Another design element that we can see is the sandstone finish at the back which is probably a color variant. There should be a glossy midnight black color variant too. There’s a curved display on top with a centrally-placed punch-hole for the front camera. You can spot the alert slider on the right with the power button on the right while volume rockers are on the left.

Moving forward, the OnePlus 12 is expected to make its debut in China this December followed by a global launch in January 2024. The phone is expected to get a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC under the hood paired with up to 24GB RAM and 256GB of storage.

There will be a 6.7” 120Hz QHD+ LTPO AMOLED panel with a fingerprint scanner under the hood. A 32MP shooter will take care of the front side while the rear assembly is expected to be a 50+50+50MP periscope setup with a 3x optical zoom. A 5,400mAh battery will power the device paired with 50W wireless and 100W wired charging tech.

OnePlus has divulged any official specifications yet although as the launch date comes closer, it will showcase some of the specs the OnePlus 12 will pack in so stay tuned for more such updates.
