OnePlus 12R 5G Specifications & Renders Leaked Online; Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 & Curved Display

The upcoming flagship OnePlus 120 is all set to make its debut in January 2024 globally as per the latest leaked information. Turns out we got some updates on the OnePlus 11R 5G successor likely to tag along in India as well. Aptly named the OnePlus 12R, tipster OnLeaks along with MySmartPrice came up with the leaked specifications and renders about the incoming phone.

Unraveling OnePlus 12R 5G Specs Through The Latest Leaks

OnePlus 12R 5G, the successor to OnePlus 11R 5G, is expected to get a slightly curved display just like the predecessor. The leaked renders show a punch-hole cut-out at the center with extremely thin bezels around the edges. The phone looks a lot similar to the OnePlus 12 so there’s an alert slider onboard along with a power button on the right; the volume rocker goes to the left; and the microphone, speaker, and USB-C take the bottom edge.

The phone is expected to be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC which is currently the top-ranking chipset. OnePlus 12 5G, on the other hand, is speculated to arrive with the yet-to-unveil Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC that will make its debut in October in time for smartphone makers to pick it up for their flagship phones. As of now, Xiaomi 14 appears to be at the top expected to launch with the SD8 Gen 3 SoC this December although we will have to wait to see what happens. As usual, Android 14-powered OxygenOS 14 will handle the software part of the device.

Circling to the OnePlus 12R, the phone is expected to get a triple rear camera setup. It includes a 50MP primary, 8MP ultrawide, and a 32MP telephoto snapper with 2x optical zoom. For context, the OnePlus 11R 5G uses a 2MP auxiliary shooter instead of a telephoto so that’s a heck of an upgrade. We have a 16MP shooter at the front though which remains unchanged.

According to the latest leaks, OnePlus 12R 5G will own up to a 6.7” AMOLED 120Hz panel with a resolution of 1.5K pixels. We could get a 5,500mAh battery paired with 100W fast charging tech.

Talking about the OnePlus 12R 5G launch date, we aren’t clear about it. The vanilla OnePlus 12 5G is speculated to arrive in January next year and globally. 12R 5G could attend the same event although there are no concrete dates available at the moment.
