Earlier this month, Realme made it official that one of its upcoming smartphones will feature first-ever 64MP camera sensor. Of course, when Realme 5 and Realm 5 Pro debuted with a quad-camera setup, the 64MP was still nowhere to be seen. Well, now that the two Realme 5 series models are out, Realme announced that an upcoming Realme phone that goes by the name Realme XT with 64MP sensor will release soon and now we have an official render too.

Posted by the CMO at Realme Xu Qi Chase, the first official image of a Snow White color Realme XT looks similar to the 5 series although subtle changes are introduced such as the rear-mounted fingerprint scanner that arrived on Realme 5 and 5 Pro is gone. Speculations suggest that it will probably get an under-the-display fingerprint scanner which is not exactly shocking since Chinese smartphone makers don’t shy away from using new technologies and in-display FPS is not that new though.

Well, with the introduction of an in-display FPS as aforementioned, it would mean that the phone will sport an OLED display landing the Realme XT into high-end categories. Furthermore, the USP of the phone will be its colossal 64MP Samsung ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor which is capable of shooting images up to 64MP or 16MP at highest clarity and detail thanks to the 4-in-1 pixel binning technology that allows it to capture images in extremely low light. Other shooters will be a depth sensor, macro lens, and an ultra-wide-angle shooter that will complete its quad-camera setup plus a fifth selfie camera will complete the set.

The telephoto sensor is unlikely to arrive with Realme XT as it was recently squashed by Madhav Sheth. Apart from that, since Realme XT is a high-end smartphone, it will be packed with Snapdragon chipsets unlike MediaTek chipsets that arrived with the Realme 5 series and there are speculations that it will be Snapdragon 855 SoC that will be integrated under the hood but we will have to wait for some time until its official release which isn’t so far given the official render arrived today.

Xiaomi, on the other hand, is releasing its Redmi Note 8 Pro with a 64MP sensor on August 29 while Samsung will debut its 108MP sensor in upcoming Samsung Galaxy A91 but the date hasn’t been confirmed at the moment.
