Recent reports suggest Samsung is expanding the Galaxy Z Fold8 Wide production and is expecting that the newer model will lead the category.
Although Samsung has not made any official comment on this information, still, the reports reveal the company’s production plan and changing expectations ahead of the official launch event.
Samsung boosts Galaxy Z Fold8 Wide production
According to a report shared by a Korean outlet, ET News, Samsung has reportedly determined a production target of 2.8 million units for the Galaxy Z Fold8 Wide. Comparatively, the company is planning to manufacture around 2 million units of the Galaxy Fold8 and 1.5 million units of the Galaxy Z Flip8.
Moreover, the outlet notes that Samsung initially wanted to produce the Galaxy Z Fold8 Wide and Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra in similar numbers. However, the updated production estimates suggest the company is intending to produce the ‘Wide’ model in higher numbers to attract stronger demand.
What’s driving demand for ‘Wide’ model
One of the biggest upgrades expected in the Galaxy Z Fold8 Wide is its display with a 4:3 aspect ratio, which will give the device a noticeably wider inner display compared to previous Galaxy foldables. If the report turns out accurate, the device would perhaps offer a more tablet-like experience, making multitasking and media usage more convenient.
