After months of speculation, Samsung has finally begun the One UI 9 rollout to more Galaxy smartphones, beginning with the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra. The newest One UI version made its debut on the company’s newest foldable lineup—the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold8, and Galaxy Z Flip8.
Samsung says the One UI 9 based on Android 17 brings a more personalized Galaxy experience, along with new Galaxy AI features, creative tools, device-care options, and security options.
My FanCam keeps subjects centered
One of the most prominent additions in One UI 9 is My FanCam. According to Samsung, using the feature, users can automatically track a selected person in a recorded video and keep them centered as the scene changes. Think of a celebrity fancam video; this is exactly what My FanCam does.
More control over Now Brief
Samsung is bringing Generative and Editable Cards to Now Brief. Users can use this feature to create cards covering areas such as health, weather, and video. The Now Brief enables more control over the information given in their daily summaries.
On the other hand, the company is also expanding Now Nudge with context-aware suggestions. For instance, when users discuss plans through text, it can assist in surfacing reservation details or help save a shared location without a need to leave the conversation.
Creative studio adds event-based suggestions
Another notable addition to One UI 9 is Creative Studio, which can now suggest ideas for image generation for upcoming occasions. Samsung mentions birthdays as an example, and users may be able to receive prompts for generating themed images or greetings.
Interpreter and document scan get improvements
Along with creative tools, Samsung is also introducing Thread View in Interpreter. The new feature lets users refer to earlier exchanges during translated conversations. Moreover, the Conversation Mode receives faster translation, while compatible Galaxy Buds can provide playback.
Furthermore, Samsung has improved Document Scan so that it can perform challenging materials, including curved book pages and papers with folded corners. Compatible large-screen Galaxy smartphones receive optimized scanning views, whereas the updated Finger Eraser assists in cleaning up spaces.
Lastly, the Voice Recorder brings more structured summaries using elements such as headings and tables.
Warranty and Care comes to Settings
With the One UI 9, Samsung is integrating Warranty and Care into the Settings menu. Users can check warranty status, run self-diagnostics, view repair estimates, manage Samsung Care+ and schedule service appointments.
