Samsung Galaxy S9 & S9+ announced in India: Launch offers, pricing, availability detailed

After announcing its two flagships during MWC 2018, Samsung has announced the Galaxy S9 and S9+ in India, which will go on sale on the same date as the other markets, i.e. March 16. In line with what previous leaks had suggested, the two phones will be priced starting Rs. 57,900, while they will come along with a bunch of launch offers for the early adopters.

The pre-booking for the phones had started on February 25 itself on Samsung Shop and starting today, they can be pre-booked from Flipkart as well. The base variant of the Samsung Galaxy S9 with 64GB of internal storage has been priced at Rs. 57,900, while the 256GB variant will cost Rs. 65,900. The Samsung Galaxy S9+, on the other hand, will be available at Rs. 64,900 for the 64GB variant and its 256GB storage variant will go on sale for Rs. 72,900.

Interestingly, the 256GB storage variants of both the devices will be available only in Midnight Black colour option, while the 64GB variant can be grabbed in Coral Blue and Lilac Purple colours besides Midnight Black. Moreover, Samsung will make the higher storage variant available only through select retail partners including Reliance Digital, Samsung exclusive stores, and Samsung Shop.

Samsung has also tied up with quite partners to provide some extra benefits to Galaxy S9 and S9+ buyers. When purchased from Samsung Shop, the company is offering an exchange bonus of up to Rs. 22,500 with additional Rs. 6,000 off on exchanging selected Samsung devices. Credit card holders from leading banks and Bajaj Finserv customers can avail 3/6/9/12/18 months of no-cost EMI with Rs. 6,000 cashback for HDFC credit card users on both EMI and non-EMI transactions. If either phone is purchased from Paytm Mall, the buyers will get Rs. 6,000 cashback in their Paytm wallet.

For telecom offers, Samsung has partnered with Airtel, Reliance Jio, and Vodafone. Airtel users will get double data on Airtel Infinity postpaid plans of Rs. 499 and Rs. 799 with additional benefits including a 1-year subscription to Amazon Prime. Under Jio Galaxy Club, the Reliance Jio users will be offered a special annual plan worth Rs. 4,999 that offers 1TB of data for 12 months and all the benefits from other Jio plans. The Vodafone postpaid customers can avail 1 year of free subscription to Netflix on RED plans starting Rs. 999 and this offer will stay valid until April 30, 2018. While the prepaid customers of the carrier will get 1.4GB data per day, unlimited calls, and 10GB additional data every month for Rs. 199 for up to 10 recharges.
