The Galaxy Watch 5 does without the tactile rotating bezel, one of Samsung’s most special wristwatch features. Up to the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Classic, it was an optional function. It was first introduced in the Gear S2 watch and allowed you to choose apps by turning the dial.

Later this year, Samsung is expected to introduce the Galaxy Watch 6 series. According to a recent claim, Samsung will only include the Galaxy Watch 6 Pro with the beloved physical rotating bezel. That’s what the Korean YouTuber Super Roader (Korean) claimed in a recent video. Given that the leaker claims to be a former Samsung employee and has a history of being accurate, you should certainly pay attention to him.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Pro: Back with the Rotating Bezel

This approach surely seems logical. One of my main complaints about the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro is that, despite its enormous battery and mapping capabilities, it doesn’t accomplish anything to warrant its $170 price increase over the basic watch. Reintroducing a well-liked feature and reserving it for Pro models would be an intelligent strategy to get people to spend more money on a model.

The Galaxy Watch 6 Pro will reportedly come in two sizes, only the 45mm size that Samsung supplied for the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro last year, a smaller version of the Pro watch may debut this year, which would be a pleasant change for many consumers who don’t want to purchase very large eyes.

For those who enjoy the status-symbol aspect of wearables, a rotating bezel is a welcome and highly noticeable feature even if it is scarcely necessary. Samsung can convincingly argue to wearable consumers that they must upgrade in 2023 by including a few more little extravagances.

Although the current model carries a big 590 mAh battery, there was no indication of a comparable battery bump for the Pro edition. Nonetheless, with wearables, every little bit helps.

The exact date of the Galaxy Watch 6 series’ released by Samsung is currently unknown, we may anticipate it to happen somewhere in the second half of this year, potentially together with the new foldable smartphones. Stay tuned for the upcoming updates regarding Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Pro.
