Apple has around 15 new products to announce this fall, and the Apple Watch Ultra 4 is one of them. Turns out the upcoming flagship watch will see one of the first-ever major redesigns since its original launch in 2022. We have started hearing buzz around the Ultra 4 thanks to industry insiders, although the details are elusive at the moment.
Apple Watch Ultra 4 might bring better sensing capabilities
The Apple Watch Ultra 4 is coming later this year in the fall with a “significant upgrade to sensing functions.” This was quoted by the folks at DigiTimes without specifying what exactly this could constitute. Our best estimate is that the Cupertino-based giant is talking about upgrading the sensors to new ones or enhancing their performance and/or leading to better battery efficiency when compared to the current flagship, the Apple Watch Ultra 3.
If this is true, the folks at Taiwan-Asia Semiconductor (TASC), aka Apple’s exclusive supplier for sensors for the Watch Ultra division, will see a large volume of orders hitting early July, outperforming the traditional peak season.
Get ready for a major redesign on ‘Apple Watch Ultra 4’
Additionally, Apple Watch Ultra 4 is undergoing a major redesign. As aforementioned, this will be the first time Apple is reprising the design on its Ultra smartwatches since 2022, when the original Apple Watch Ultra was launched. Estimates suggest Apple could see a 20-30% jump in shipping post-redesign, as is evident by previous shifts in design language across Apple products, including iPhones and MacBooks.

Apple’s rolling out a critical health feature
Now, let’s talk about one of the most critical features that the Apple Watch Ultra 4 could get right off the bat, and that is blood pressure sensing, looking out for hypertension or high blood pressure.
The built-in sensor analyzes how blood vessels respond to the heartbeat based on the inputs from the heart-rate sensor, and when it detects any abnormal pattern, it sends notifications to the users. It remains to be seen how this notification feature is different from hypertension notifications that were launched on watchOS 26 last year.
Apple Watch Ultra 4 release date
The redesigned Apple Watch Ultra 4 is slated to debut in September 2026, most likely sharing the same stage as the iPhone 18 Pro, the iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the maiden launch of the foldable iPhone Ultra. There are also Apple AirPods Ultra, MacBook Ultra, and a new Mac powered by an M5 Ultra SoC in the works, reportedly scheduled to arrive in the fall this year.
