The chip uses an improved 3nm process called N3P. This is a little better than the previous N3E, about 5 percent faster without using more power. The CPU layout is 2+6 cores. Leaks show the Xiaomi 17 Pro hitting 4.61 GHz on performance cores and 3.63 GHz on efficiency cores. Samsung seems to get a special version for Galaxy phones hitting 4.74 GHz.
Cache is bigger too, 32MB total (16MB L2 and 16MB L3) up from 24MB. That makes a difference in speed because the CPU can access data faster. The Adreno 840 GPU is slightly faster at 1.20 GHz and the AI chip could reach 100 TOPS. That is crazy for mobile.

There might be a standard Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 and a cheaper Snapdragon 8s Gen 5 later in 2026. So this top one is the strongest but not the option.
