While Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus have been featured in several real-life and rendered images, the latest renders showcase the devices in its full glory, along with specifications. According to a legit source, Samsung is planning to launch these devices on March 29.
Based on the leaks that surfaced on Slashleaks, Samsung Galaxy S8 will feature a 5.7-inch display while its bigger ‘brother’ Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus will feature a massive 6.1-inch display. We’ve learned from the pictures that both these devices will come with a glass-aluminium design with very minimal bezels around the display.
That being said, now we have clear idea regarding the design and looks of the smartphone; thanks to Onleaks and GearIndia. Talking more about the specifications, the Galaxy S8 is said to pack 4 GB RAM, 3250 mAh battery, and 64/128 GB internal storage. On the other hand, the Galaxy S8 Plus will sport 6 GB RAM, 3750 mAh battery, and 64/128 GB internal storage.
Both the phones will come out in two variants, with one of them being powered by Samsung’s own Exynos 8895 Soc and the other one with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 835 chipset. Adding to the similarities, they will have 12 MP/8 MP camera combo and run Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box.
On the security front, the devices will sport an iris scanner and a fingerprint sensor. Unlike other Samsung Galaxy series, these upcoming flagships will pack the fingerprint sensor on the rear end. Although the display size seems larger, the overall size of the screen won’t be any bigger than the current flagships, all credits to the minimal screen bezels and the absence of ‘traditional’ home key.
When compared to the current flagship Galaxy S7, Samsung may have made a few changes in the key placements on the upcoming devices. The volume keys are still in their places, while the power button has been moved below them to pave the way for the Bixby AI assistant button. Also, it looks like Samsung isn’t ‘courageous’ enough to scrap the 3.5 mm headphone jack, keeping them intact at the bottom along with a USB-C port.
