OnePlus Announces Plans To Make TVs: OnePlus TVs Coming Soon?

OnePlus is a well-known premium smartphone brand which has made its place similar to Apple’s in just five years with a huge loyal customer base on which it thrives. Until now, OnePlus was only known for its premium yet affordable smartphones and its line of smartphone accessories but following an update from OnePlus, the Chinese brand is considering producing OnePlus TV and the first of its model will be rolled start as early as next year.

Business Insider spoke to Pete Lau, founder of OnePlus, about the idea and its prospects on which, we have come to know the context of what you could expect with the upcoming OnePlus TV although the specific specs sheet isn’t out yet as the product is currently under an early stage of development.

According to Lau, OnePlus is thinking about rolling out a TV that ditches the tantrums of traditional TVs by integrating it with internet at various levels to create a whopping user experience. When asked how OnePlus will do to achieve such a feat, Lau replied that OnePlus TV will be rolled out as early as next year after which, the customers will receive updates for their TVs for five years that will help OnePlus understand the concept well and provide the product that customers desire, a decision that has allowed OnePlus to become a favorite to millions of people in terms of its OnePlus smartphones.

He stated that first, OnePlus is searching for suitable artificial intelligence (AI) partner that would connect the TV to smart speakers and other smart devices to render tasks which include integrating with smartphones that will perhaps a plethora of features. To put into context, OnePlus is looking forward to developing a TV with internet capabilities and a seamless connection between the TV and the smartphone. This would allow the TV to showcase details such as calendar events, suggestions, and even booking a cap to and fro destination.

One of the crucial aspect that Lau has mentioned is the camera as OnePlus TV will surely have a front-facing camera which although raises privacy-related questions but he has ensured that since OnePlus is thinking of including this feature, it will surely look forward to providing a foolproof solution regarding the same.
