Samsung Galaxy S11 is a few months away and we have already started seeing an uptick in terms of frequency of leaks around it. Based on the latest beta update for One UI 2.0 beta based on Android 10 that Samsung Galaxy Note9 received, leakster Ice Universe has discovered a rather interesting feature in its Chinese build.
When translated in English, the Settings menu showcase that Samsung is building upon a 120Hz refresh rate for its smartphone with Note 9 receiving the beta update for it followed by Galaxy S11 that will come with it pre-loaded. The feature stats that users can ramp up the refresh rate from 60Hz to 120Hz which is rather interesting since we have seen it with gaming phones only.
The Settings menu stats that users can switch between 60Hz to 120Hz using three settings i.e. either select 60Hz as standard or tick the ‘High Refresh Rate’ mode that should ramp up the refresh rate to 120Hz or the users can allow the phone to dynamically switch between 60Hz to 120Hz when required. Although a higher refresh rate offers fluid transitions and animations, they are often tailed by higher battery consumption which is why selecting the third option could save a tonne of battery juice when required.
According to GSMArena, OnePlus introduced a 90Hz refresh rate on its OnePlus 7 Pro while Huawei Mate 30 Pro had the same. Gaming-oriented Razer Phone started everything using a 120Hz refresh rate for the first time which we also saw with ROG Phone II and so on. This seems to be a new fad in the tech industry.
Samsung Galaxy S11 is speculated to arrive sometime in February if its previous timeline is adhered to. The phone will have mind-blowing specifications that will outpace its own predecessors including slimmer bezels, director’s view, 108MP sensor and so on.
Apart from that, Samsung Galaxy S11 is reportedly certified to get a 3,720 mAh battery as well and will be available in three sizes and five trims although that remains undisclosed at the moment so we will have to wait for a while to know more about it.
