Last year, during the Microsoft hardware event where they launch new Surface products, the company announced something exciting. It was the announcement of two new dual-screen devices named as the Surface Duo and the Surface Neo. The difference between these two devices is in their screen sizes. While the Surface Duo is a phone that has dual displays, the Surface Neo expands to become a tablet/laptop.

Also, Microsoft said that the Surface Duo will run Android which is the first time that we will see Microsoft’s hardware running software from Google. The company says that both the companies have worked together for Android to take advantage of the dual screens. Last month, Microsoft also revealed some features that are coming with the launch of its Surface Duo later this year.

However, those revelations from Microsoft were limited and everyone wants to see more of what the device will offer. Thus, a twitter user by the username Walking Cat has now leaked a new feature coming to Surface Duo. This feature is named as ‘Peek’ which lets the owners of Surface Duo have a glance at the device without totally unfolding it.

Now, this feature is helpful due to the fact that there is no display on the front of Surface Duo. Therefore, users are forced to open the phone to see notifications or take calls or do any work. But with the ‘Peek’ feature, Microsoft will let users have a quick glance at their notifications and incoming calls.

As seen from the videos posted by ‘Walking Cat’ in his tweets, we can see that the feature will allow users to have a look at their notifications by opening just 25% of the display and even swiping away notifications.

During the calls, the ‘Peek’ feature will give you access to accept or reject a call from the smaller screen which will then adapt to the whole screen when the device gets opened. Also, we believe that Microsoft will allow you to close the phone during an incoming call which will reject the call automatically just like the Galaxy Z Flip or the Motorola Razr.

However, the point of discussion here is that Microsoft is trying to give this feature in order to hide the fact that they don’t have any display at the top. We feel that opening the whole device during calls or messages will be much easier to do rather than using this feature. But we do understand that this feature might come in handy during meetings.
