Last year, Apple held three major launch events in the fall to announce several products. Cut to 2021, it wrapped up the second major event titled Unleashed 2021 earlier this year. Apparently, there won’t be any third launch event or even a major announcement from the Cupertino-based giant, says Mark Gurman of Apple.
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman Power On newsletter, he believes that it is highly unlikely that Apple will hold a third launch event this year. In fact, there won’t be any major announcement this year and all the rumored products are scheduled to arrive early next year. There were reports that Apple will introduce a new Mac mini at its October launch event, however, it didn’t and now, it is likely to arrive next year alongside the new iPad Pro, iPhone SE, iMac with an improved Apple Silicon and others.
Gurman points out that even if Apple had plans to roll out new products this year, it could have announced them at the Unleashed 2021 event with shipping starting by the end of this year.
There are many devices in the pipeline that Apple will announce. This includes the new iPhone SE. There’s a MacBook Air with Apple’s in-house M2 chipset. It is reported that the M2 chipset will have faster CPU cores plus an increased number of graphics cores that will translate into greater performance. Moreover, the upcoming MacBook Air with M2 will see a major redesign since 2010 so that’s a biggie.
Apart from that, Apple is likely to announce a new iPad Pro in 2022 that will have reduced bezels, wireless charging, a glass back, and an overall redesign. Ming-Chi Kuo added that the upcoming iPad Pro 2022 with 11-inch displays will use mini-LED display technology. The rumor mill is quite active when it comes to Apple devices.
Apple already launched a new lineup of flagship iPhone 13 series along with HomePod; Mac mini, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air with Apple Silicon among others. Its recent launch introduces us to 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models powered by Apple M1 Pro and M1 Max chipsets. Stay tuned on True-Tech to get more updates.
