When I say the Xiaomi 16 Pro and 16 Ultra specs got leaked, you might be thinking, aren’t we still waiting for the Xiaomi 15 series launch on March 2? Well, both parts of that question are true. We got an early update from a popular tipster regarding the display design and specs, and if you’d like, we can also include Xiaomi 16 series camera leaks from previous reports.
Xiaomi 16 Pro and 16 Ultra May Feature a Next-Gen Cutting-Edge Display
Citing tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS) via Weibo, we can say that the upcoming Xiaomi 16 Pro and Xiaomi 16 Ultra will feature a next-gen flat display. We’re talking about a 6.85-inch 2K+ LTPO OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. It is flat with ultra-thin bezels running uniformly around the edges.
It may be too early to say, but DCS mentioned that the Xiaomi 16 Pro series is using what’s called LIPO technology for the display. He added that the Pro and Ultra models will have a narrow-border design with better border control than the iPhone 16 Pro, which has 1.44mm top and 1.41mm bottom bezels.
As flagship phones, the Xiaomi 16 Pro and Ultra could feature even narrower bezels as they prepare for their launch later this year in China, followed by a global launch early next year. We expect nothing less than a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Elite SoC under the hood, given that the current Xiaomi 15 series packs a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Elite SoC.

Xiaomi 16 Series to Feature a Periscope Telephoto Camera Setup
According to another tipster, Smart Pikachu, the Xiaomi 16 could ship with a periscope telephoto camera on board. Unlike last year, the vanilla variant might include the periscope camera (with 5x optical and 10x lossless zoom), which was previously seen in the Xiaomi 15 Pro, along with a 50MP Light Hunter 900 primary camera and a 50MP ultra-wide snapper.
In any case, we hope the Xiaomi 16 Series will include at least three variants — the Xiaomi 16, 16 Pro, and 16 Ultra — all of which are expected to feature periscope telephoto cameras.
