- Set to arrive sometime this month, the series will replace the existing Honor GT series which made its debut last year in December (coincidence?)
Honor Win series is officially launching later this month. The Chinese smartphone maker took it to Weibo to confirm its performance-first phone series for gaming enthusiasts. Here’s what we know about the Win series so far.
Honor Win series confirmed through Weibo teasers
Honor Win series is confirmed to launch later this month. The tech giant took it to Weibo to showcase a silhouette of the phone with a metal deco and ‘WIN’ branding on-board, which will be a top-of-the-line offering, possibly replacing the Honor GT series.
Expected specifications reveal a gaming-focused phone
Based on the previous reports, Honor Win series (or the rebranded GT series) will pack in Snapdragon 8 Gen 6 SoC and/or Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoCs. There’s a giant 8,000mAh battery under the hood paired with 100W fast charging.
Note that other reports also suggest a massive 8,500mAh battery, which is huge for a gaming device. Apparently, the phones carrying model numbers AAK-AN00 and AAP-AN0 have been certified by 3C, so at least two models are incoming.
Talking about the other specs, we are expecting the phone (s) to pack in a 6.83” 1.5K 120Hz flat display. We are certain the Win series will bring high-end specs as it is being deemed as gaming-oriented.
Previous reports put a 50MP primary camera, high-grade water resistance, an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, and a dedicated AI side button.
Honor has started posting teasers showing various curves of the phones, starting with its large metal frame deco as seen here. There have been whispers around the tech world hinting that the series might have an active cooling fan, and it seems plausible since we are talking about a gaming phone here, and having a cooling fan can bring in sustained performance over a long duration, which then bursts to full potential for a short while.
