Apple has announced that its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (Apple WWDC26) will run from June 8 to June 12, 2026, bringing developers from around the world together for a week focused on innovation, learning, and collaboration. As in recent years, the event will primarily take place online, with a special in-person gathering planned at Apple Park on the opening day.

A global event with a personal touch

Apple is continuing its hybrid approach to WWDC, making the conference widely accessible while still offering opportunities for face-to-face interaction. Developers will be able to stream sessions through the Apple Developer app, the official website, and YouTube, with additional access via Bilibili for audiences in China.

The conference will kick off on June 8 with Apple’s keynote presentation, followed by the Platforms State of the Union, two sessions that typically outline the company’s latest software updates and future direction across its ecosystem.

Spotlight on AI and developer innovation

This year’s WWDC is expected to put a strong focus on artificial intelligence, along with new tools and technologies aimed at developers. Apple says attendees will gain early insights into upcoming features, frameworks, and enhancements designed to improve app development across devices.

Over the course of the week, participants can explore more than 100 video sessions and take part in interactive labs. These sessions will allow developers to connect directly with Apple engineers and designers, ask questions, and better understand how to implement new technologies.

Susan Prescott, Apple’s Vice President of Worldwide Developer Relations, described WWDC as a key moment for the company and its community, emphasizing the shared excitement around innovation and collaboration.

Special event at Apple Park

Alongside the online experience, Apple will host a limited in-person event at Apple Park on June 8. Developers and students selected to attend will have the chance to watch the keynote live, join exclusive sessions, and interact with Apple experts in person.

Due to limited space, attendance will require an application through the Apple Developer website, and spots are expected to fill quickly.

Supporting the next generation of developers

Apple is also continuing its Swift Student Challenge, an initiative where young developers can showcase their creativity and coding skills. Winners will be notified on March 26 and will have the opportunity to apply for the Apple Park event.

In addition, 50 Distinguished Winners will be invited to Cupertino for a special three-day experience, recognizing exceptional submissions and giving participants a closer look at Apple’s developer ecosystem.

Further details about WWDC26 will be shared through Apple’s developer platforms and social channels, including LinkedIn and WeChat. The company is describing the event as a truly global experience, ensuring developers everywhere can participate and stay informed.
