- The launch for airpods with cameras has been pushed to 2027 despite latest video demo showcasing capabilities.
- Although these cameras won't be able to capture photos or videos, they will act as a feed to Siri AI and Visual Intelligence.
- The news comes despite previous reports suggesting a launch happening alongside iPhone 18 Pro series.
A few days ago, a demo video teasing AirPods with cameras took over the internet, with a potential launch timeline of September 2026 alongside the iPhone 18 Pro series. However, it turns out that despite the video leak, the actual product is still targeting a 2027 launch, which goes in line with what we earlier believed.
AirPods with cameras is coming in 2027
A tipster shared a video showing how your AirPods will be able to use cameras for visual intelligence along with Siri AI to remember things. In fact, we have a feature on everything that was referenced and leaked on the latest macOS 26.7 release candidate, suggesting a launch nearby.

With that being said, the latest update coming from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reiterates the launch window to be happening in 2027. For the unversed, the launch date for the said AirPods with cameras has long been rumored. Earlier, we were told the mass production would start mid-2026, followed by June, and now, the launch has been delayed until 2027.
This is also when the Cupertino-based giant will have to figure out ways to use cameras on AirPods without blowing off privacy concerns.
Although these aren’t actual cameras to begin with, the skeptics are still worried about what these sensors will be able to capture given they will be able to ‘see’ the surroundings. What we know so far is that these earbuds will be able to feed information using low-res cameras but have no capability to capture photos or videos.
On the product lineup, all we know is Apple is working on two variants of AirPods dubbed B790 and B798. Earlier, we reported how the B790 is coming this year while the B798 is waiting for 2027 to roll out. On the other hand, both of these could be variants of the same device, and based on their performance and other metrics, Apple will choose to launch the best one that checks the launch.
In any case, the B790 appears to be a modified variant of the AirPods Pro 3 but with cameras and AI capabilities linked with Siri and Visual Intelligence. B798 is expected to be an AirPods Pro with cameras, although the actual details remain unknown for the time being.
