History seems to be repeating itself, at least for OnePlus. Live images of the upcoming OnePlus 5T are already available on the internet and we still have a few days left to its official announcement. The images confirm all the design changes that we have been hearing about the phone over the past few weeks.

The very first thing you’d notice is the edge-to-edge display which makes the OnePlus 5T look much better than the OnePlus 5 in the image they’re kept together. It is a 6-inch optic AMOLED display now which comes with an FHD+ resolution. To accommodate that large display, the fingerprint scanner had to be moved to the back of the device.

Talking about the back, the camera module looks slightly different on the OnePlus 5T. The metal around the camera module blends into the camera protrusion just like the iPhone 7 Plus, which, apparently, the OnePlus 5 was accused to look alike. That isn’t a major change to the phone and the overall shape of the phone remains to be the same.

Along with the live images of the phone, its detailed specifications have also leaked, leaving nothing to be announced at the event except for the price. Not much has changed from the OnePlus 5 besides the display and fingerprint scanner placement. The cameras on the back are still 16MP and 20MP but both will now have an f/1.7 aperture.

The internals of the phone are all the same, including the battery size. The leaked specifications reveal that the OnePlus 5T will have the same 3,300 mAh battery as its predecessor despite sporting a larger display. The processor, internal storage, and RAM variants are all the same as they previously were. It will come running Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box with OxygenOS on top. It should get Android Oreo update alongside other OnePlus phones.

One of the biggest change that OnePlus 5T plans to bring is in the design as the OnePlus 5 was criticised much for it. With the 18:9 display, the OnePlus 5T will be added to the still elite group of flagship phones coming with minimum bezels. The display on the OnePlus 5T doesn’t have the rounded edges as the Galaxy S8 lineup but still is comparable to some of the best ones in the market.

The OnePlus 5T will go official next week on November 16 and will be available in a list of countries. The open sales for the device will start from November 21. It is yet to be seen how OnePlus prices its new mid-year flagship smartphone for 2017.
