OnePlus has just announced the OnepPlus 5T Sandstone White Edition, just like it was expected. It brings the typical old OnePlus sensation to the latest one from its flagship lineup – OnePlus 5T. OnePlus said in their forums that they started experimenting with blending Sandstone with metal as they have moved to all-metal starting OnePlus 3 and after two years, they have finally been able to come up with a device that holds the OnePlus aesthetics and is unmatched in terms of the grip it provides.
OnePlus also mentioned that they have used over 100 prototypes and this is the first time they are able to provide the classic Sandstone feel to a metal chassis and it takes four layers to create a body with a comfortable grip and a natural, minimalistic appearance.
This new OnePLus 5T Sandstone White looks quite similar to the OnePlus 5T Star Wars Edition, which was launched a while ago. However, the OnePlus 5T Sandstone White doesn’t carry the Star Wars branding on the back and Star Wars wallpapers. However, it has the white coloured back with a smooth Sandstone finish, a black power button and volume rockers. The alert slider, on the left now looks absolutely brilliant with that Mineral Red colour. See for yourself!
Just like the Star Wars Edition, the latest OnePlus 5T Sandstone White will come in only one variant, having 8GB RAM and 128GB storage onboard. It will be priced the same as the standard Midnight Black variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. The new OnePlus 5T Sandstone White will go on sale starting on January 9, at 10 AM ET/10 AM CET/10 AM GMT depending on the region.
OnePlus has also revealed that the phone will be available in extremely limited quantities due to the immense amount of labour put and development that was put to mix and match the classic OnePlus feel with metal on their latest offering. OnePlus will soon let us know about the phone’s availability in India, and we will keep you updated about it.
