LG has released the LG Wallet app on the Google Play Store. It is a new Android app being offered by LG as a secure mobile payment application for LG’s premium mobile handsets. Seems good? Did you think about Samsung Pay immediately? Well, in that case, there is a disappointing news. The wallet works on a non-existent smartphone and that is the LG G7.
LG G6 was LG’s last year’s offering that never really took off well and landed on the crowded smartphone consumer market, it received kinda lukewarm response from consumers. Now, it is expected that the LG G7 will be arriving in the upcoming months but the LG Wallet, as the description says, works only on the LG G7.
However, we recently also came to know that LG is going to kill the G Series so the G7 might be launched under a different name. So, now here’s the confusion we’re going through – whether the Wallet app will only work on the upcoming LG phones or it will support current phones as well.
As of now, the LG Wallet app doesn’t work, but maybe you can install it on phones like the LG V30, the current flagship from LG. Also, as the app’s Google Play icon actually shows LG Pay instead of LG Wallet, it is quite possible that the LG Wallet will replace the currently available LG Pay. Soon after the news broke out, LG fixed its mistake and took the app down from the Play Store.
Right now, we are neither sure whether LG G7 will be launched or not, if it is launched whether it will retain its name or will come under the hood of a new lineup, neither it is clear yet whether the LG Wallet will be made available on current LG smartphones or not. Now that LG has already taken the app down, you can download the LG Wallet APK from APK Mirror if you want to give it a try. Still, we are trying to find out more about LG Wallet and the upcoming LG G7.
