We’ve been overwhelmed with the amount of Nokia 9 and Nokia 2 leaks flying around all over the news, and in the middle of that HMD Global seems to be announcing a very important message for the people. Reportedly, HMD Global, the company who makes and sells the Nokia phones have sent out media invites for the launch event which will be held on October 31. Rumours are that they’ll be unveiling the much awaited Nokia 7 on that day itself.
The invite says, ” HMD Global invited you to an exclusive gathering to unveil the next milestone for Nokia phones” which indicates that they have something huge coming.
Earlier this month, Nokia 7 was launched in China. And in the coming days, it’ll make a debut here in India.
Nokia 7 is Nokia’s first ever smartphone which comes with a glass back cover. They claim that the back cover has a 3D curve and it has been moulded into an aluminium 7000 frame with the help of vacuum moulded process. We don’t have to wait to check that out, do we?
Taking a look at the specifications, the Nokia 7 will come with a 5.2-inch display with 1080 pixel resolution. The screen of the Nokia 7 will be safe because of a layer of Gorilla Glass 3 on it.
Nokia 7 will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor and will be launching in two different variants, 4GB RAM and 6GB RAM and 64GB storage. As of now, there are no updates on which variant will HMD Global be launching in India.
Nokia 7 is rated IP54 for durability and yes it’s a splash-proof device. Nokia 7 packs in a decent sized 3000mAh battery. The smartphone will come with Android 7.1 out of the box, and it seems Android 8.0 Oreo is in the works.
The main selling point of the Nokia 7 you ask? , Well It has to be the dual cameras and its ‘bothies’ feature. This feature has picked up some pace in terms of popularity. It was seen on the Nokia 8 before. The feature allows the users to capture pictures using both the front and rear camera at the same time, which helps to capture the perfect moment. As we are on the topic of cameras, Nokia 7 will be coming with a single camera, yes I used the word single camera, been days since I’ve used that term after the introduction of dual cameras. The single-camera packs in a 16-MegaPixel image sensor which will be supported with a f/1.8 aperture lens. The front camera packs in a 5-megapixel sensor for some crispy selfies.
The Nokia 7 was sold in China with a price tag of CNY 2,499 (Approx Rs.25,000) for the 4GB Ram variant. The 6GB RAM variant is sold for as close as CNY 2,699 (Approx Rs.26,500).
Nokia might also be all set to reveal it’s budget-oriented smartphone, Nokia 2, but as of now all eyes on Nokia 7. What do you expect from the HMD Global launch event on October 31, 2017?
