The only thing that we didn’t know about the upcoming OnePlus 5 was its launch date, but this new leak gives us that piece of information as well. The much-hyped smartphone from OnePlus was expected to launch sometime in June and this leak also confirms this timeframe, June 15 to be precise.
According to an internal email published on Weibo, the date when OnePlus 5 will go official on June 15. It is hard to know if the alleged email is legitimate or not, but we will take the date as an indication of the actual one.
All the other details of the OnePlus 5, including the price, have already leaked and we have an idea what the device would be. Talking about the specifications, the phone reportedly will sport a 5.5-inch 2K display and come powered a Snapdragon 835 processor, becoming the first smartphone India to sport the high-end processor.
Besides this, the leaked images of the phone have also confirmed the presence of dual camera setup on the back, bringing it in line with the iPhone 7 Plus. The battery has also been upgraded and the will feature improved Dash Charge support.
Right before the launch of the OnePlus 5, the company has launched a referral programme. Under the programme, each of your friends will receive $20 off on the purchase of any accessory after they buy a smartphone from the official store. You will get 100 referral points for sending the referral link. However, the referral plan isn’t active in India yet.
Moreover, the company has announced to discontinue the OnePlus 3T after only 6 months of being launched. The phone is currently selling with limited stocks and will continue to be available in India. This is also a strong indication that the OnePlus 5 launch is quite near and we are even waiting eagerly for the announcement.
