We have spent the first half of the year discussing the OnePlus 5, and it doesn’t seem to stop just yet. OnePlus has now released a new teaser that indicates a new colour variant for their famous flagship-class higher mid-range smartphone. Some of the rumours have suggested that it is going to be Mint Gold colour.
The OnePlus 5 was launched earlier this year for a price tag of Rs. 32,999 for the variant with 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage and Rs. 37,999 for the 8GB RAM variant that comes with 128GB internal storage. The phone comes powered by a Snapdragon 835 processor and a battery of 3300mAh. At launch, the phone was made available in just two colour options – Midnight Black and Slate Gray.
In the teaser image posted on OnePlus’ Weibo account, you can see the two colour variants that are already available along with a transparent image of the phone. The caption of the image reads: “Who Is Coming?” suggesting the launch of a new phone variant. Apart from this, OnePlus India also posted the same image with the caption: “5omething new coming up! Can you guess what it is?”
Before the OnePlus 5 went official, TrueTech had exclusively reported that the phone would be launched in three colour variants and gold was one of them, besides the black and grey colours. The information also turned out to be true that the Deep Black (now officially known as Midnight Black) colour is be reserved for the 128GB storage variant.
Following the launch, a TENNA listing (via MyDrivers) also surfaced on June 23rd that confirmed the presence of a Gold colour variant. OnePlus will soon confirm the colour option that it will be coming out with. Meanwhile, the OnePlus 5 recently got the Oxygen 4.5.7 update that brought EIS to 4K video recording along with a few bug fixes and features.
