OnePlus just launched the OnePlus 8T which is their flagship phone for the second half of this year as there will be no OnePlus 8T Pro. OnePlus says that the OnePlus 8 Pro is the best phone they have made in 2020 and it will remain so for at least May or June of 2021. So it obviously means that those who are looking to upgrade will get the OnePlus 8T instead of the OnePlus 8. Also, there is a chance people will look to buy the OnePlus 8T over the OnePlus 8 Pro due to that price difference if the camera is not a priority.

Now, a new report from China suggests that people are going crazy for the OnePlus 8T and this might be also due to the fact that their economy is coming back to normal after lockdowns and the pandemic. As per the report, OnePlus made sales of close to $15 million, $14.9 million to be precise, in its home country that is China. The even more interesting part about this report is the time in which these sales were made.

Reportedly, the close to $15 million sales figure was achieved in under a minute which is honestly insane. In addition, the sales did not stop there as sales reached $29 million within 10 minutes of the sale getting started. It is worth noting that the Chinese pricing of OnePlus 8T is also brilliant so these sales were expected. In China, the OnePlus 8T 8GB RAM variant is being sold at just 3,399 yuan which is approximately Rs. 37,500 in India.

If we compare the Indian pricing of OnePlus 8T, it starts at Rs. 43,000 which was great for what it offers but when looking at the Chinese price, it looks overpriced. For the same price, we can get the OnePlus 8T 12GB RAM variant for what we are paying in India for just the 8GB RAM variant. However, we know that there are taxes and other things that justify the jump in prices.

Also, we believe there must have been a “nationalism” factor that played part in OnePlus 8T’s outstanding sales. Since most countries are going for the “Made In” their own country pitch for products sold there, Chinese phones are bound to be sold higher in their own country as well. We know countries like India, the US and even UK are going for “Made in India”, “Made in the USA” and “Made in the UK” so “Made in China” also makes sense and people will show their support for the country in this manner.
