With the Samsung Galaxy S8 announcement, a standout amongst the most significant services conveyed was Bixby – a personal assistant for Samsung devices. Running eye-to-eye with Google Assistant, Samsung with its new AI based assistant, aimed to venture into the ground and contend firmly with features such as object recognition from the camera and almost all the usual assistant-stuff the Google Assistant was able to pull off, except – Voice commands. But today, Samsung has commenced registration for users interested to gain early access to Bixby Voice Assistant.
Although being the most notable features of Bixby, the voice command fragment was not enough matured to launch alongside the text-based fragment of Bixby. Samsung, amidst the launch, showcased the voice command portion to be the most formidable, affirming to possess competencies to do almost everything that you would trigger the touchscreen for. But, dismally as we know, it did not arrive with the S8 and has not officially landed onto devices yet, subsequently discouraging users and potential purchasers.
After all these months of wait, still, no official word has been issued over the official launch of the Bixby Voice Assistant. Nevertheless, Samsung today began registration for users already mulling over to try the feature out. Users from the US (only, sadly) can head over to this form and register their interest to gain early access to the service.
The voice controls for Bixby have been deferred enough. And if this situation has caused you dismay and dejection, well, guess what, you are not alone! I am a Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus user, and I feel equally let down. Talking about me, I couldn’t hold up to get my hands on Samsung’s Bixby Voice controls. Thus, I have signed up already! Better pick up the pace before the form closes forever.
