Xiaomi Redmi Band makes it official at the Mi Fan Festival 2020 to compete for head-on with Realme Band that released a month ago at twice the price. Apparently, Redmi Band squashes in a lot of features including a heart rate sensor, sports mode, as well as a sleep monitor and a USB port for charging.
The Redmi Band features a 1.08-inch color display on-board and comes with five sports modes ie. walking, running, cycling and others. The band features a heart rate sensor that can show you the actual heart rate at any given instance. On the other hand, a sleep monitor will keep track of your sleeping patterns and notify you.
Further, the Redmi Band will offer four distinct wristband options and 70 personalized dial faces if you want to customize it according to your preference. Moreover, there’s USB-A port on-board that’ll help you charge the band’s battery in a jiffy. In fact, it’s the battery that will last a good 14 days on a single charge which although isn’t any different from any other fitness band but its a good feature that lets you stay unstrapped to the charger for more days on end. It takes just 2 hours for a single charge from dead to 100% so you can just plug it in, wait for some time and you are good to go.
The band can alert its users of the weather forecast as well as notifications of the device you have paired it up with and since it is now Android compatible, there’s a whole host of devices that you can pair it up with. It is also rated with water resistance at up to 5ATM but I would still recommend not to try it out just to be on the safe side.
Redmi Band doesn’t have an NFC for contactless payment which the Chinese variant of Xiaomi Mi Band 4 while the international variant doesn’t. Anyways, the device is up for sale starting on April 9th in China where it is up for grab at CNY or Rs 1,000/- under a crowdfunding campaign while the device’s actual price is CNY 99 or Rs 1,100/- once the campaign is over. There’s no word on its global availability so you can stay on True-Tech to know more.
