Highlights
  • Apple is expected to hold another launch event on October 27.
  • This is the time when we will see OLED MacBook Pro, OLED iPad mini, and a few other launches.
  • We are looking forward for a M5 Pro, M5 Max, and M6-powered devices with the upcoming event.

Apple is reportedly launching the new Macs, including an OLED MacBook Pro, on October 27, as per reports. This comes from Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, according to whom the Cupertino-based giant will be holding a separate launch event for the Macs after wrapping up the October 13th ‘Welcome Home’ special event.

OLED MacBook Pro could launch on October 27

Yet to be confirmed, Apple is set to launch a slew of Mac devices at the October 27 (Tuesday) event. This is where we will see an OLED MacBook Pro and the first-ever touchscreen laptops in both 14” and 16” variants. We have discussed the OLED MacBook Pro for a while now. It brings a slimmer profile, a Dynamic Island on top, and is mostly powered by either M5 Pro or M5 Max or either latch onto the M6 line of chipsets, as per some source.

Heading forward, we will have a new iPad mini in the picture with an OLED panel, a relocated camera placed on the landscape edge, and a revamped speaker system on-board. Finally, we have new iMac and MacBook Pro models that will have the same design language as current versions, yet they will be powered by Apple M6 SoC.

The October 27 (on or before) launch event is expected to be aimed at creative professionals specializing in music production and photo or video editing, all of which are resource-intensive tasks. It is akin to the ‘Scary Fast’ event that we were a part of for the M3 iMac devices.

The event actually happened almost two weeks after Apple’s October 13 event, which is an Apple Home-focused launch event. October 27’s event could be a combination of an online unveiling followed by an in-person meeting for a selected few.
