  • Apple is currently gearing up for its iPhone 17 series launch but we might have a lot more to cover in the coming years.
  • Starting next year, we might see changes in the designs of its dynamic island pushing elements under-the-display one-by-one but over a speculated period of five years.
  • This conflicts with previously tipped roadmaps according to which, we might see Apple rolling out design changes as early as next year.

Apple roadmap for the upcoming devices and changes has surfaced online, teasing what’s there in the near future. Apparently, the latest update comes from Ross Young, a supply chain analyst, with a clean and accurate record of leaks and yet, it does conflict with what we have known so far. Let’s dig a bit deeper to find out three big changes that Apple will bring on-board in coming years as of Young.

Latest Apple Roadmap Looks at Possible Changes Coming ‘Soon’

According to Ross Young, the Cupertino-based giant will begin integrating smaller notches on its iPhones starting as early as 2026. It means we will see some Face ID elements going under-the-display, giving way to a smaller Dynamic Island. We assume it is iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max that Young is talking about, referring to the year 2026.

Fast-forward to 2028, and we could see almost all elements of Face ID going under-the-display while the selfie camera remains out and separated. Since it is 2028, we could say this is iPhone 20 Pro and Pro Max that we are talkin’ about. Finally, with iPhone 22 Pro and Pro Max coming in 2030, we might see the entire selfie camera and Face ID units under-the-display with no visible notch or Dynamic Island.

To be honest, it doesn’t make any sense that we will have to wait five years (at the least) to see an all-screen iPhone when most of its competitors will have much better tech by then. In fact, we could see all-screen Android phones become a reality soon enough, thanks to reduced sizes of bezels and improved tech.

Coming back to the iPhones, the latest Apple roadmap appears somewhat dubious, given the fact that it is conflicting with what the folks The Information and Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman have to say about the upcoming launches.

Earlier reports suggested we could see the size of Dynamic Island reduced, with Pro series starting as early as next year. Waiting for half a year makes no sense, as it seems trivial we could wait that long just to see iPhone’s notches getting smaller.

The Cupertino giant is gearing up for some major launches, including iPhone 17 Air that will change the way how we look at iPhones, for good. Then, we have Apple’s first-ever iPhone Fold speculated to make its debut in 2026, for which, Apple seems not to have finalized a few elements yet.

For now, all we can do is wait and check if there are any changes in the upcoming iPhone 17 Series, launching this September. Let’s cross our fingers and hope for the best.
