At the Apple Peak Performance launch event, Apple did introduce a slew of devices including the 5th generation Apple iPad Air. It has made a massive leap thanks to the inclusion of the Apple M1 chipset that replaces the old Apple A14 Bionic chipset mounted on the last-gen iPad Air. Here’s the story.

Talking about the pricing. iPad Air 5th generation Wi-Fi goes on sale at $599 while the 5G-powered iPad Air will fetch a price tag of $749. Its Indian pricing is INR54,900/- and INR68,900/- respectively. Both the variants will be up for grab from March 18 while the pre-orders will begin this Friday itself. You can choose between purple, pink, starlight, space grey, and new blue finish colorways. The device will be available on sale across 29 countries via Apple Online Store and retail stores among others.

The 5th generation iPad Air 2022 is all-powerful thanks to the inclusion of the Apple M1 chip which is undoubtedly a major improvement over A14. The chipset makes the iPad Air 60% faster than the last generation as well as gives it more power to the graphics. It has a 16-core neural engine onboard that takes the performance to a new level.

There’s 5G connectivity on top that should give iPad Air the much-needed speedy internet connection. It promises 10Gbps of data transfer speeds via the USB-C port.

Moving on, the 5th gen iPad Air sports a 12MP rear cam and a 12MP ultrawide front command that supports all a few cameras features like Center Stage.

5th gen iPad Air is still using the same display as its predecessor so that’s 10.9” Liquid Retina IPS LCD panel with 500 nits of peak brightness, True Tone, P3 wide color gamut, and anti-reflective screen coating to name a few. Thus, there’s no mini LED or OLED as of now.

Apple iPad Air 2022 is still using the same battery capacity as its predecessor. It promises 10 hours of movies and web browsing on Wi-Fi although the M1 chipset should be able to refine the performance by a ton. There’s iOS 15.3 onboard as usual. The tab is compatible with Apple Pencil, Magic Keyboard, a Smart Folio cover, and Smart Keyboard Folio as well.
