There’s a lot of buzz around the upcoming iPhone 14 series even though we are 2-3 months away from its launch. However, there’s an increasing database of reports dedicated to the pro versions of the series namely iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max that are active subjects of these reports. Cut to now, a Digitimes report mentions that the upcoming Pro variants will get faster RAM than the non-Pro counterparts.
iPhone 14 Pro models to get faster RAM
This particular piece of information comes from Digitimes according to whom, the two Pro models dubbed iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max will get 6GB LPDDR5 RAM which is faster than the predecessor LPDDR4X. Why we mentioned Pro models is because the iPhone 14 and 14 mini is likely to resort to a bit slower LPDDR4X RAMs but the Cupertino-based giant will upgrade the RAM from 4GB to 6GB.
It was back in March this year when tipster Ming-Chi Kuo mentioned the increased 6GB RAM and that the Pro models will be upgraded to faster LPDDR5 RAM. It remains to be seen just how accurate Kuo’s predictions are given the fact that the information she has shared has been credible for years now.
Some additional rumors on iPhone 14 series
As said, there are a lot of rumors about the upcoming iPhone 14 series. We know that the upcoming series will get a new A16 Bionic SoC based on the same fabrication node as A15 Bionic for the Pro models. When it comes to the non-Pro models, there’s an A15 Bionic SoC with an extra 2GB RAM and an extra GPU core to satisfy the higher graphics rendering onboard.
There’s speculation around the display tech as well where the upcoming iPhone 14 series is likely to get a pill-shaped cutout plus a hole-punch cutout to house the front camera and other sensors. Although this upgrade display design is expected to roll out on iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Ma only, it remains to be seen officially.
