Google AI Mode is expanding with a few more apps integrated in the United States, to begin with. Now, users can integrate YouTube Music, Instacart, and Canva into AI Mode, letting users do much more than ever before, all in the comfort of AI Mode on the search engine itself.

Google AI Mode now connects to more apps

Google posted a new update on its blog announcing the major upgrade coming to people in the US this week. Dubbed as app connections or app integrations, the newly added apps let users perform tasks on Google Search itself without opening these apps before basic tasks.

For instance, Instacart on the Google AI Mode lets users add ingredients to the platform while you are working their way through the grocery list. Similarly, Canva lets users seek templates for presentations, flyers, brochures, and others with just a quick command. Next up, we have YouTube Music, wherein AI mode lets users curate a playlist and save on the music app that Google ultimately owns.

Google’s AI Mode can already find information on recipes, a list of music titles according to your preference, and more. Adding app connections ensures the results are acted upon, such as saving on a grocery list, updating a playlist on YouTube Music, and so on, i.e., executing tasks unlike earlier. Once you set it up, you can use it across desktop and mobile apps (iOS devices, as of writing this).

One such example posted by Google shows how a person is planning for a barbecue party and asks AI mode to curate the grocery list required for the party. Since it is connected to Instacart, it will automatically add all the ingredients to the cart and check out, ordering the same.

Availability

According to Google, these app integrations are available in the United States starting as early as this week. For now, this is limited to English; however, we are certain that more languages and regions will be covered soon.

Google upgraded the Gemini app earlier this year with Personal Intelligence by connecting a host of Google services with the AI platform. This ultimately resulted in personalized responses based on users’ activity, integration, and preferences, as noted by the Google apps. The aim here is to generate better AI experiences for the users, and that is where connected apps and personalized intelligence work wonders.
