- Google Pixel 10a renders show resemblance to this year's Pixel 9a.
- This could be Google's safe passage in terms of design to keep the cost of a new Pixel 10a unit low although it could turn into a hard pass for potential buyers.
- Google Pixel 10a is likely to use Tensor G4 SoC, a downgrade from the Pixel 10 series' G5 SoC adoption although this is possibly to keep the price tag around $499.
Google Pixel 10a renders just dropped, and it gives uncanny vibes of a Pixel 9a. Well, the glimpses say it all, thanks to the renders released by tipster OnLeaks and the folks at Android Headlines. The phone is scheduled for launch in early 2026, and the renders paint the picture of what we will get waiting for a much affordable Pixel 10 series phone, after all.
Google Pixel 10a renders hint at a ‘safe’ passage the makers are moving through
Well, we got our hands on leaked Google Pixel 10a renders, and the phone looks a lot like Pixel 9a wrapped in new packaging. Slated to arrive in early 2026, the renders appear in a blue-esque shade, possibly representing one of the colorways. Well, we didn’t see the color last year, so yes, at least that’s an upgrade, as the device looks chic.
Moving on, we see the renders possibly with dimensions of 153.9 × 72.9 x 9mm, making it a tad bit shorter than Pixel 9a, as well as less wide, and carries a little less thickness to it (~0.1mm). Reports suggest the phone is likely to get a larger 6.2” panel instead of a Pixel 9a’s 6.3”, so that’s a departure in some direction as well.
The camera island, shaped oblong or a pill-shaped island, looks identical to Pixel 9a as well. I don’t say it looks bad, but trust me, something is off with the proportions and location. I mean, it could be dead in the center or a bit more to the left, although there are different perspectives to look at it.
Leaked Google Pixel 10a specs hit at Tensor G4 SoC, the same as Pixel 9a, and a potential downgrade from Pixel 10 series’ Tensor G5 SoC. Well, having a better chipset would’ve been great, but the search engine giant is thinking otherwise. The specs also put the phone with a battery pack of at least 5,100mAh or above. Finally, we have the pricing on-board, i.e., around $499.
Google could be pulling a safe one with Pixel 10a by sticking to the design principles tried and tested with Pixel 9a. This is a common practice among smartphone makers such as Motorola, Xiaomi, Samsung, among others. Basically, it helps save cost on massive redesigns, which is what makes newer phones less pricey for the end users.
Launch timeline and availability
The Google Pixel 9a was officially unveiled on March 19, 2025, and if Google follows a similar timeline, the Pixel 10a could debut in early 2026, possibly around the same period.
As always, these details are based on early leaks, and official specifications may differ once Google confirms the device.
Stay tuned for more updates as the Pixel 10a edges closer to its official launch — a device that could once again redefine what to expect from a mid-range Pixel phone priced under $500.
