Do you own a HTC One M8 GPE? Then you may make your phone and yourself ready to receive the update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
While Google may have stopped the Google Play Edition devices phone program a while ago, but if you do own a GPE device, you may be wondering when your device will be receiving Android 6.0 Marshmallow. For the HTC One M8 GPE device owners HTC announced that the update would rollout in October, but later on they revealed that the update has been delayed.
For the few owners of the HTC One M8 GPE out there, I’ve got some good news. The Android 6.0 Marshmallow update started rolling out. The weight of the update is 450.4MB, which will bring all the vanilla Android goodness you would expect if you buy a GPE device. The new features that come with this update are: New permission settings, Doze power savings, Google Now on Tap, and of course a lot of fixes and improvements under the hood.
That the update started rolling out today, means that HTC now offers two devices running Android 6.0 Marshmallow, the first one in the recently revealed HTC One A9, and now the HTC One M8 GPE. For the One M8 and M9 (non-GPE), the update should be ready at the end of this year, although HTC didn’t give us a specific ETA.
For those owning a HTC One M8 GPE, did you see the update arriving on your phone? And, if so, what do you think so far? Thanks for visiting TrueTech, we hope to see you again, next time, at your source for all things, Tech!
