Huawei launched the Huawei Mate X2 earlier this year which saw a wholesome response with booking closed several times in the country due to unprecedented booking. Well, the Chinese smartphone is gearing up for its next-gen foldable phone dubbed as Huawei Mate V. The foldable phone will opt for the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip and Motorola Razr-like clamshell design and it is likely to arrive before the end of this year.
This comes from a tipster on Weibo “Panda is Bald” who said that Huawei is planning to launch Huawei Mate V clamshell-folding smartphone before the end of this year. Also, it will arrive with Kirin 9000 SoC under the hood which is currently the most powerful chipset manufactured by HiSilicon, Huawei’s in-house chipmaking division.
Apparently, we don’t know if the upcoming foldable phone will have 5G or LTE or both. For context, the Huawei Mate X2 arrived with both 5G and LTE-only variants. It is just a matter of time until we confirmed what connectivity the upcoming Huawei Mate V will bring on-board
Huawei will compete against both Galaxy Z Flip and Motorola Razr series of foldable phones as both have clamshell-like designs. On the other hand, companies like Oppo and Vivo are working on vertically folding displays where Samsung is currently slaying with the recent Galaxy Z Fold3.
Huawei is expected to hold an event on October 21 where we expect the OEM to showcase the new phone.
