  • The new iPad Pro features an Ultra Retina XDR display in 11-inch and 13-inch sizes.
  • The device runs iPadOS 26, offering improved multitasking and AI-enhanced features.

Apple has officially launched the all-new iPad Pro with M5, calling it their most advanced and powerful iPad yet. The new model uses the powerful M5 chip to deliver exceptional performance, improved AI capabilities, and next-level efficiency. All of this is packaged within the signature ultra-thin design of the iPad Pro lineup.

Next-generation iPad Pro with M5 chip

At the center of the new iPad Pro is Apple’s latest M5 processor, which offers a large jump in both speed and intelligence. The M5 chip has a next-generation GPU with a Neural Accelerator in each core, which significantly boosts performance for creative, professional, and AI-driven tasks.

Apple says the iPad Pro with M5 offers up to 3.5 times faster AI performance than the M4 and up to 5.6 times faster than the M1 model. Its 10-core GPU features a new architecture that greatly boosts graphics rendering, while the 16-core Neural Engine enables efficient on-device AI for tasks like image generation and video masking.

The M5 chip features a third-generation ray-tracing engine for extremely realistic lighting and reflections, making 3D rendering up to 6.7x faster than the M1 iPad Pro. This makes it very powerful for creators using apps like Octane X, Final Cut Pro, and DaVinci Resolve.

With up to 150GB/s of unified memory bandwidth (a nearly 30% jump over M4) and faster storage speeds, multitasking is smoother than ever. The smaller 256GB and 512GB models now start with 12GB of unified memory, letting users easily handle more demanding tasks.

Smarter connectivity

Apple also introduced the N1 wireless chip, which supports Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread, for faster, more reliable wireless connections. Cellular models now have the C1X modem, which gives up to 50% faster cellular data speeds while using less power.

Users can expect smoother streaming, faster downloads, and better connectivity for mobile work that needs constant performance.

Display and design

The Ultra Retina XDR display uses innovative tandem OLED technology, which gives up to 1600 nits peak brightness, true color, and an optional nano-texture glass to reduce glare. The iPad Pro also supports external displays up to 120Hz with Adaptive Sync, making it great for gaming and professional editing.

The new iPad Pro with M5 keeps Apple’s focus on portability and look. At only 5.1 mm thin for the 13-inch model and 5.3 mm for the 11-inch version, it is the thinnest iPad ever made.

As part of Apple’s goal for carbon neutrality by 2030, the new iPad Pro uses 30% recycled materials. This includes the enclosure being made of 100% recycled aluminum and all magnets using recycled rare earth elements. Furthermore, the packaging is made entirely of 100% fiber, which helps reduce the environmental impact.

iPadOS 26 and Apple Intelligence

Running on iPadOS 26, the new iPad Pro introduces a refined look, a more easy-to-use windowing system, and deeper AI thanks to Apple Intelligence. The system supports live translation, better multitasking, and enhanced creative tools that are optimized for the M5’s Neural Engine.

New apps and updates, including Preview (for PDFs), Files, and Shortcuts, use the chip’s AI and graphics power to make creative and work processes smoother and faster.

Pricing and availability

The iPad Pro with M5 is available to pre-order today at apple.com/store and the Apple Store app in over 30 regions, including the United States and India. It will be available in stores starting Wednesday, October 22.
