It is generally seen that Apple’s hardware and software for their iPhones is best in class and there are usually no bugs as such in their products. However, we have seen things change with iOS 13 which was released last year with the iPhone 11 series. As we have seen plenty of bugs inside iOS 13 and most of them have been fixed now. However, reports of a new bug being noticed by iPhone 11 series users is coming out which is regarding a “green tint”. Basically, green tint is when the display looks green rather than normal and even the white background looks greener.

Some users using the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and the iPhone 11 Pro Max have noticed this issue on their devices where the display randomly shows a green tint. They also mention that the issue goes away on its own as well and comes back. There is currently no solution for this issue and it is unlikely to be a hardware issue because the issue is widespread. It is most likely to be a bug that has crept into iOS 13.5 and we believe that a software fix will come very soon.

According to the users who reported about this issue, they feared it could be “a hardware issue — but then my mother’s phone started showing the tint. It’s just one more bug in iOS 13.5. They’ll prolly fix it in 13.5.2 (or, well, iOS 14 beta)”.

This issue was first picked up by MacRumors from Reddit posts talking about this issue. One thing in common with most people who have noticed this issue is that “the screen turns green right after unlocking the iPhone or when Dark Mode and Night Shift are activated”. Right now, there is no way to solve this problem and users who face this issue will have to deal with it until Apple fixes it in a future update.
