Earlier this year, LG released a statement saying that they are shutting down their smartphone business and while it did not surprise too many people, it still came as major news across the industry.

One thing to note is that LG is a huge name in the phone market and while they have not been able to keep track since smartphones started trending, they were still a huge name in the past.

Nowadays, LG is trying to focus on its other segments such as monitors, laptops, and other types of electronic devices such as ACs, Fridges, and Washing Machines.

Talking about monitors, a report states that LG might be making Apple’s next Pro Display XDR that will feature the latest and greatest Apple M-series CPU inside it. Along with that, LG is also making external displays that might be sold by Apple for its Mac devices.

We now have an announcement from the company and this time it is a new laptop from LG. However, this launch is special for the company as they say it is the “first gaming laptop” they have ever launched. But it must also be said that their first gaming laptop is quite impressive.

LG UltraGear Gaming Laptop

First of all, we know that gaming laptops are not usually thin and powerful but LG has done it. LG has managed to manufacture a thin and powerful gaming laptop. This laptop is launched in the UltraGear lineup from the company.

LG has packed a 17.3-inch display inside its gaming laptop which is quite impressive because gaming laptops need to have a bigger display and most of the manufacturers are not willing to provide the same. Regarding thin and light, the laptop weighs just 5.82 pounds and it is 0.84 inches thin.

However, the main highlight is its display which has a 300Hz refresh rate along with a Full HD resolution at 1920 x 1080 pixels. The laptop also has 99% sRGB color space coverage which means it will be color accurate as well.

Along with that, you get the 11th generation Intel Tiger Lake H-series processor along with Nvidia RTX 3080 Max-Q GPU, 16 or 32GB of RAM, and up to 1TB of NVME SSD. LG says that its UltraGear gaming laptop will be available starting next year and we assume that is when we will know about its pricing as well.
