Google confirmed today that the “Okay, Google” hotword is not working again on the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge.

The “Okay, Google” feature is broken for a few weeks already, and the fact that the option to activate the feature was missing in the settings, made some users think that Samsung removed this feature out of the ROM. But, as it turns out now, the reason of the bug is the conflict between the Google feature and the S Voice feature from Samsung.

On Google’s product forum a representative announced that the issue has been fixed. To get it working again you need to have the latest Google app update, (Version 4.5 or higher, the current one is version 4.6). If you’ve the latest version of the Google app and still can’t see the feature, try uninstalling the app updates and install them again. In the worst case scenario you need to clear the cache of the Google app, which means that you’ll be logged out of your Google account.

And, one more thing: Because of the conflict between the features of Google and S Voice from Samsung. Enabling “Okay, Google” will disable S Voice, except for the times that your screen is off. Basically, you need to decide which assistant you want to use, but we’re pretty sure that it won’t be a big problem for many of you.
